In 2020, while many were exploring new personal hobbies, Johnny discovered specialty coffee. After purchasing his first espresso machine from @SeattleCoffeeGear, he brewed 77 shots of espresso on day one, meticulously recording every detail in search of the elusive "perfect" cup. Unfortunately, he never got there and continues asking this question every day.

It turned out that his career as a rocket chemist and brewing coffee weren’t so different. Preparation, extraction, and process control. He credits @Onyxcoffeelab’s Tropical Weather as his gateway coffee, and when brewed as a straight espresso, it revealed the clear notes of ripe mango complemented by delicate floral undertones. It was enough for him to change careers into coffee science! These days, you'll find him roasting on his L100 @roest and introducing specialty coffee to his friends and family. With Coffea & Company, Johnny aims to demystify the world of specialty coffee and celebrate its diverse flavor profiles with his community.
